Working closely with Maltese artist Norbert Francis Attard, Martin and Ann Müller used their experience as artists, curators, and project developers to deepen collaborations whose foundations had already been laid out. Ann Müller dealt with the layered relation of the role of women in Gozo, from her unique point of view as an outsider. This culminated in work that juxtaposed Polaroids against typewritten poetic language, as well as a video and sound installation. Martin Müller’s research as a painter focused on ‘Reality’ – both in a philosophical and an anthropological sense. Taking a cue from Gozo’s rich heritage and history, culture and natural landscape, the project consisted of printed and overpainted photographs of ‘everyday’ situations, presented on large scale canvases arranged into diptychs and triptychs, as well as archive footage from magazines, newspapers and other
About the Artists
Anne Müller (b. 1978), a co-founder of the network culture.net, has played concert tours with the Goethe Institutes and performs in art spaces, museums, at festivals and art associations. Her intercultural art, culture and education projects have opened her up to truly international engagement, just as her art academy project IAM International Art Moves.
Martin Müller (1961) studied history of art, philosophy and German literature at the University of Cologne. In parallel to this, he has developed skills in drawing and painting. He works as a curator, designer, visual artist, and visiting lecturer
in various art academies.
